Abstract:
The paper aims to examine the discourse of the French Front National, principally that of its leader Marine Le Pen, on European integration. Using a combination of constructivism, social psychology theories, and Foreign Policy Discourse Analysis, the paper concludes that Le Pen, the self-styled Madame Frexit, depicts the EU in dystopian terms, as an authoritarian neo-empire comparable to the former Soviet Union.
