  PhD Anni-Siiri Länsman is University Lecturer of Sámi Culture in the Giellagas Institute for Sámi Studies at the University of Oulu, Finland. She is also the Director of the Giellagas Institute for Sámi Studies and Member of the Executive Group of the Faculty of Humanities. Länsman is a (North) Sámi from in Northern Finland. As a sociologist, Länsman is specialized in the modernization processes of Saami society in Scandinavia, especially in Finland, as well as in the development of the Sámi culture and representations.
